About me

I am a multimedia storyteller and FMCG business reporter at the trade publication Grocery Gazette.
As FMCG-lead at Retail Gazette’s sister publication, Grocery Gazette, I have covered a variety of exclusive and breaking news across the grocery and retail sector, alongside features and interviews with leading FMCGs such as Britvic, Nestlé, Deliciously Ella, The Sidemen, Brewdog and KP Snacks, with my full portfolio available through my Muckrack.
Previously writing for fellow trade publications, Marketing Beat and Sustainability Beat, in 2022, also took part in The Guardian’s Positive Action Scheme, producing podcasts for Today in Focus and Politics Weekly America and writing for both its environment desk and The Observer’s news desk.

Here I researched, archived and edited scripts for podcasts, with examples including Politics Weekly America’s ‘What does the future hold for Liz Cheney?’, presented by Joan E Greves in her interview with Republican National Committee Michael Steele.

Another example of a piece I produced was The Guardian's Audio Long Reads ’The deepest silences’ where Hugh Brody recorded his harrowing tale of indigenous suicide among Canadian youth. I demonstrated both audio editing skills and music scoring skills, using software like Reaper and Descript.
Alongside reporting, I am confident in a range of SEO techniques, social media and newsletter curation, as well as audio editing programmes, such as Descript, Reaper and Audacity. I also prize myself as adaptable and a fast learner, able to pick up new applications and skills quickly.

Educational Background

A 2022 University of Exeter graduate, I have written for Exeposé, the University of Exeter's award-winning student newspaper.
I also presented and produced for XpressionFM with a radio show called Just Jammin'. This show was dedicated to celebrating music of Black origins but from artists from all different ethnicities and nationalities - interposed with news stories from current affairs, politics and culture.

I also have experience in social media, with roles such as Head of Social Media (XpressionFM), Marketing and Event Intern (Charles Causley Trust) and Social Media Coordinator (The Nest Southwest).

Among other projects, I had a personal blog, with topics ranging from social affairs and politics to fashion and culture. An example includes my post on Practical Ways to Support the Struggle Against Police Brutality - an article created after the murder of George Floyd in 2020. Currently, in the process of updating the webface of my original blog, a few notable posts have been reposted to this portfolio.
